Lake Garda vacation region

Enjoyment of art, culture and food are special in their own way in all seasons.

The wind on Lake Garda

Weather forecasts should be treated with caution. The famous microclimate at Lake Garda is unpredictable and most common weather forecasts misguide, due to the high mountains, the southern Po Valley and other regional characteristics are not sufficiently taken into account. Forecasts from Wind finder, Wind Guru & Co have to be read and interpreted, as the thermal wind is not accurately predicted. The daily exchange of high and low pressure gives us daily. Corresponding diagrams can tell us the chance of north and south currents. But as the motto is usually: ask the locals !

Kite Sailing Windsurf Foiling

Kiting on Lake Garda is a unique and beautiful experience. If you haven’t tried it, yet you should convince yourself to. From noon on, the well-known Ora, a very constant thermal wind from the south of about 10 – 15 kn, blows. It is ideal to learn to kite and even advanced kite surfers will quickly learn new maneuvers. In the early morning, the advanced kite surfers get their money’s worth. The Peler, the strong north wind, blows over the lake with 15 – 30 kn from the night until late morning. Perfect to start the day full of adrenaline. .

Depending on the east or west shore, the wind unfolds differently on Lake Garda. So in the early morning we have great conditions for intermediates, advanced and pro`s of all sports. From early noon the beginners start with flat water and light wind until it can go in the early afternoon with 3-4 Bft. for kiting and foiling. The lull between north and south wind and the early evening bring us perfect conditions for stand up paddling.
